چکیده

An accurate method of classification of the surface mem brane characteristics of blast cells from patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia would allow a more definitive study of the nature of this disease. Monoclonal antibodies have been produced to the surface antigens of leukemic blasts from a patient with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Two anti bodies of interest were obtained from this immunization. These two, in combination with a monoclonal antibody with anti-la specificity, have been used to obtain surface phenotypes for patients with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Prelim inary results indicate that the definition of a high-risk group, using these antibodies, is possible.

IMMUNOLOGICAL PHENOTYPING OF ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA ( ALL) IN UNIVERSITY AFFILIATED HOSPITALS: A PRELIMINARY REPORTON 50 PATIENTS

The peripheral blood and bone marrow samples from 50 patients with ALL were investigated by indirect immunofluorescent technique. The most common type of ALL was common-ALL (82%) and the least common was T-ALL (2%). Other subtypes of ALL were unclassified by our technique (8%), B-ALL (4%), and pre B-ALL (4%). The correlation between immunophenotype, clinical condition and hematological pro...

Immunophenotyping of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia in Qazvin; A cross-sectional study

Background: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most prevalent cancer in childhood. ALL is a heterogeneous type of malignancy and treatment protocols vary based on the immunological classification of ALL. The critical step for treating ALL is immunological subgroup identification by flow cytometry findings. In this study, for the first time, immunophenotypic information was evaluated in c...

DETERMINATION OF A SHARED EPITOPE ON CELLS FROM ACUTE MYELOGENIC LEUKEMIA (AML) AND T-ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA ( T-ALL)

Two IgM monoclonal antibodies (MAb) with strong reactivity for granulocytes and to a lesser extent for lurkat cell lines were established by immunizing BALBI c mice with a histiocytic cell line (UY37). These two MAbs (designated as 6C9 and 4C4) reacted with blast cells of T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients as well as leukemic cells from pat...

Relationship between ABO blood group and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) constitute a family of genetically heterogeneous lymphoid neoplasms derived from B- and T-lymphoid progenitors. ALL affects both children and adults. Diagnosis is based on morphologic, immunophenotypic, and genetic features that allow differentiation from normal progenitors and other hematopoietic and nonhematopoietic neoplasms. The aim of this study was to in...
